10:35 am
I am leaving for my cousin's place. He is supposed to leave this afternoon and I have to say goodbye. He has been here for almost a month now.
11:00 am
I am at his place, but, he is not here. He is out for something and I decide to wait. My aunt tells me that he has delayed his return and he is staying two more days. Since I am here why not meet him.
11:35 am
Its almost time and I cannot wait anymore. I must leave now to get there on time. I have been waiting for this the whole week. I got today off from office just for this and now its time to leave.
12:15 pm
I am there earlier then I expected. But something wrong had to happen. The service road is under construction near the building and now we have to find a way to get there.
12:30 pm
We found a way, and the taxi driver dropped me near the building. I got to the second floor where it was located and I found a number of people sitting there waiting, probably for the same reason I was here.
1:00 pm
It was supposed to start now but there seems to be delay for some reason. I was discussing this with my friend who was also there, waiting for the same thing. Our guess was that, since they have shifted place, they must be having difficulties with procedure. Which as it turned out, was'nt the real problem.
2:00 pm
Still nothing. We have asked the person guarding the door, a number of times but, he asks us to wait as our time will come soon.
2:35 pm
I am inside, sitting in front of the terminal, reading directions. There is a annoying tutrorial that I have to go through, which I dont need and dont like. Still it is better than sitting outside waiting for it begin. Now, it begins.
3:15 pm
I am half-way through, feeling confident, breezing through it like nothing. Suddenly, the power fails. I am worried that my work may have been lost. I spent over and hour on it and I seriously, don't want to repeat it.
4:00 pm
The air-conditioning is down for almost and hour now and this place is closed and hot like an oven. I am sweating my brains out. The weather today is particularly humid and warm and thanks to the carpeting in the room, it feels a lot more than what it is.
4:30 pm
The power is back on. Thank God. But, what is this? Everyone else's terminal have turned on but my terminal is dead like the egyptian mummies. The Admin comes around, looks at it and goes away. He checks other teriminals and looks at mine and leaves once again. I am getting frustrated. Others have now started their test while I sit here as if waiting for my bus to arrive.
4:45 pm
News. "The circuit breaker for your terminal is dead, come with me." I am now seated at a new terminal, ready once again for the inevitable. Surprise. It is back from where I left it. The work is not lost. Great news. Lets complete, what I had left.
5:55 pm
I am done. The screen shows that my TOEFL score range is 227-280, which it will hopefully be from 270 to 280. Yes! That is what I was looking for. My procrastication has paid off. Thank you God.
