Life from the headphones

imageI was watching a movie on the laptop, with my headphones on. The movie had a great background score, it had funny jokes, touching moments, loud noises, uplifting music and beautiful engaging picturization. Someone called me but I didn't hear, they called me again and I responded by taking the headphones off and then taking care of the matter. Then I got back to my movie, put my headphones back on and continued with it. Only to realize what I was hearing others didn't. I was going through a world of experiences and feeling the whole spectrum of emotions but no one else could relate to it. For them there is no sound to relate to. For them its not really happening. They see me with my headphones watching the screen but they are not where I am. If we were sitting in a big cinema hall we might all be feeling the same, but not right now. There was a whole life going on, from those headphones and no one could see except the one wearing them. Can life be hidden so easily under the headphones? Can we disconnect so easily?
